18th Century French Miniature Genre Painting in Ormolu Frame.
 
This beautifully executed oval miniature Boucher style painting depicts a young
lady reclining on a flower bed. This exceptional French 18th century period miniature is incredibly detailed to perfection. Created in Francois Boucher
style, it is balanced and lighthearted and exemplifies Rococo in a playful sense.
The oval miniature is housed in an exquisite and finely chiseled period ormolu bronze frame under slightly convex glass. There is a hinged easel attached at the back of the frame. A bronze label reads, “ Mme Sophie”.
 
Condition is excellent. Minimal wear.
