18th Century German Martin Luther Holy Bible.
This is a rare 1733 German massive folio edition translated by Martin Luther and printed with numerous engravings in red and black by the famous Endter Publishing House in Nuremberg. It features a preface by Johann Salomon Glaser. Dr. Martin Luther’s translation work began in 1522 and concluded in 1534. The Roman numerals at the very bottom read ANNO M DCC XXXIII which dates this printing to 1733. The bible is bound in blind-stamped pigskin over a wooden board.
Condition: Clasps are missing. The spine is partly detached. Some pages are loose and somewhat browned, some with stains. Signs of wear and tear but still in overall fair
condition.
