18th Century North Italian Polychrome Painted and Faux Marble Top Neoclassical Chest of Drawers.
 
Elaborately hand painted 18th century three drawer Italian chest. Probably Florence. It is decorated in the original pale green paint with darker scrolling ribbon, swags and floral design. Similar exuberantly painted details on both sides. The paintwork is accentuated by the faux marble top in terracotta tones. The chest is raised on square tapered legs. The hardware is original. Two drawers have the original locks. No keys. The top drawer lock is missing. The chest is in good antique condition and retains most of the original decorations and paint. The faux marble top painting is of later date. The drawers inside have some wood filler touch ups. Age related minor chips and cracks. (see photo)
