19th Century Huge Black Forest Hand Carved Ink Stand with German SIlver Leaves Embellishment
 
Remarkable black forest inkwell elaborately carved with scrolling oak branches.  The large desk box is also richly decorated with cut out and incised German silver leaves ornaments.   A large drawer on the front is made with fine and precise dovetails.  On the top between two cut glass inkwells a small bust of Sigmund Freud is mounted.  This one of a kind, carved masterpiece is executed circa 1880. 
 
The desk inkwell is in overall good antique condition. Wear due to use and age. Some missing metal leaves on corners. Some repairs to the bronze galleries.
 
This desk ink stand, in it’s impressive size, is truly unique and a marvelous antique.
