This is an exceptional, fine and impressive antique French enamel polychrome painted casket. Each panel of the box is painted in the 18th century manner with charming landscape motives. The hinged lid is decorated with a lovely, Fragonard inspired, courting couple. The enameled jewelry box is supported by a very finely casted decorative bronze mounting with four curved feet that are richly decorated with volutes and foliage. The interior retains the original silk lining.
