19th Century Large American Empire Gilt Wood Carved Overmantle Mirror
ca. 1840
Superb early 19th century American Empire triptych overmantle mirror in great state of preservation. The mirror consists of three separate sections surrounded by frame with split carved and gilded columns with rosette corners. The gold leaf on gesso is original. It is a rare surviving example.
Condition is good with minor wear due to age and use. One rosette has a missing corner.
