19th Century Portrait of a Young Italian Woman signed E. de Blaas.
 
Beautiful painting in oil on wood panel depicts a young Venetian woman, signed E. de Blaas in the upper left corner. This colorful and lively portrait, probably a preliminary sketch, was a favored subject for the artist. Eugene de Blaas or Eugene von Blass was famous for his Academic Classicism and portraits of Venetian beauties.
