American Illustration, “Tired but Happy” by Griswold Tyng (1883-1962)
 
This oil painting on canvas depicts a grandfather figure, seated in a high-backed armchair as a young girl rests her head on his shoulder and her hand in his. The painting is signed in the lower right by the artist Griswold Tyng. The painting was owned by the Riverside Press in Mass., published and reproduced for Posters and Postcards. Griswold Tyng (1883-1962) was an American painter and illustrator, active in Massachusetts. 
The painting is in good antique condition. Minor touchups are noticed.
