Antique George III silver scallop shell butter dish, 1790 A magnificent Georgian silver cast scallop shell butter dish with curled handle. The rolled over end is engraved with a family bear crest. This handsome shell dish sits on three cast conch shell feet. The inside has a gold wash. Hallmarks are clearly struck and identify Abraham Peterson as the silversmith. 
 
Condition is excellent and the gilding is still very strong.
