An exceptional piece of late 19th to early 20th-century Japanese craftsmanship, this antique Meiji-period patinated bronze usubata urn features remarkable artistry and elegant proportions. Designed originally for traditional Ikebana floral arrangements, this standalone lower vessel sits on an integrated, tripod splayed base flanked by two robust loop handles.
The front of the urn features stunning mixed-metal craftsmanship, showcasing a beautiful silver-inlaid soaring crane and delicate, hand-incised detailing of river reeds.

Very Good antique condition. Beautiful, dark aged bronze patina with minor surface wear, light oxidation, and surface handling marks typical of authentic antique metalwork. Does not include the separate, wide-rimmed top tray insert.
