Antique Original Pair of Silver-Plated Brass Torah Finials, Rimonim
The pair of finials have bulbous stems and spherical upper sections that are hung with bells. Each is topped with a crown and knob. Delicate repoussé and engraved designs mark the finish. An engraved Hebrew dedication is engraved around the base of each. They date to the Late 1800s and their origin is probably Austro-Hungarian or Eastern European. A very similar pair is listed in Sotheby’s New York, Important Judaica, March 2004. No. 79.
Condition: Some missing bells. Some misshaping is noticed. Wear due to age and use.
