Charles Parker Aesthetic Movement Brass Telephone Table Stand ca.1880
This rare brass table, one of a few known by the Charles Parker Company is an exceptional example of the American Aesthetic Movement. Elegant brass frame is designed in bent and twisted elements embellished with Japanese stylized brass decorations. Two brass framed mahogany shelves are tastefully integrated. The artistry and craftsmanship of this piece clearly identifies the Charles Parker Company as the finest metalwork artisan of the Aesthetic Movement.
This ca.1880 brass telephone stand can be found in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York, the Dallas Museum of Art and the Yale University Art Gallery.
Condition: Overall condition is good. Mild tarnishing. Some screws have been replaced. Two bouquet decorations are missing.
