Chinese Russet Jade Hardwood Imperial Ruyi Scepter Qing Dynasty 19th C., Provenance. 

 

Large Chinese Qing Dynasty jade Ruyi scepter with three beautiful relief carved domed russet jade panels in graduating size. The panels feature designs of peaches, flowers and pomegranates set in dark hardwood. This jade Ruyi scepter was created in the 19th century and it is very rare. The aesthetic hardwood frame is masterfully carved and elegantly shaped. The condition is good. Length of the scepter is 20 inches. The largest jade panel measures 4 ½” x 4”.

Provenance: Estate of Henry Alexander Count of Salm-Hoogstraeten, New York.
