Early 19th Century English Rosewood Tea Caddy

 

This beautiful and large rosewood tea caddy has a sarcophagus shaped body and pyramid shaped lid. The fitted interior is comprised of 2 tea compartments with button knobbed lids. The box is additionally lined in the interior in a red floral relief design. The brass locking mechanism is in working condition and with the original key. Beautiful workmanship and glowing wood finish make this a stand out among antique caddies.

Condition: Good. Mechanism is in working condition (original key). Some of the wood molding on back corner is partially missing. A small piece of veneer is missing from the right interior tea compartment.
