Early 20th Century English Silver-Plated Treasury Desk Casket Inkstand by William Adams
An exceptionally handsome and complete early 20th-century English silver-plated "Treasury" casket inkstand by the renowned silversmithing firm William Adams. Designed as a direct revival of luxury 19th-century stationary sets, this compact desk accessory features a distinctive, dome-topped "waterfall" hinged lid that opens to reveal a  multi-compartment interior layout. Flanking the center are two original, heavy square cut-glass ink reservoirs, each fitted with fine silver-plated collared caps.
A detailed twisted-rope gadrooned rim and  beautifully chased lion's heads handles decorate the outside.  The casket is raised on four spherical bun feet and the front features an elegantly engraved Gothic "H" monogram.

"William Adams" maker's signature, "ENGLAND," "410949." 
Good / Very Good Condition.
The silver plating retains an excellent bright luster. The heavy cut-glass wells are well-preserved. One collar is loose. The original lid hinge remains taut and closes seamlessly flush with the base frame.
