French Antique Rolling Expandable Brass Silverplate Trivet by Au Bon Marché Paris, Late 19th C.

An exceptional and highly collectible French late 19th-century rolling, expandable dining trivet, stamped by the legendary Parisian department store Au Bon Marché Paris. Founded in 1838, Le Bon Marché is celebrated historically as the world's very first modern luxury department store, catering directly to the sophisticated upper classes of Belle Époque Paris.

This piece features an exquisitely detailed, symmetrical brass openwork frame showcasing classic French scrollwork, stylized foliage, and geometric border details. Designed with both brilliant form and high utility, the trivet splits cleanly down the middle and expands smoothly along its original dual internal parallel rod tracks to accommodate larger platters. The rolling trivet is elevated on four mini integrated casters. Complete with its original brass fittings and screws. This piece is fully functional as a luxurious table accessory.

Condition: Good working condition. Sliding and rolling mechanisms work smoothly. No breaks, missing parts, or structural damage.

Silverplate is worn from brass on top. Some silver remains on the underside.
