George Rouault Studio Fauvism Oil Painting on Paper on Board

Characteristic genre painting of a musician group in typical style and technique of George Rouault (1871-1958). The Fauvist style artist had experience in leaded glass paintings which is the likely source of the heavy black contouring and glowing colors. The painting is executed in oil on paper and laid down on board. It is monogrammed in the lower left corner.

Condition is good with expected traces of glued paper to board.

The painting is housed in a later wood frame.
