Irish Mid-Century Coastal Landscape Watercolor Painting, Inscribed 1983, Bernard McDonagh.

A beautifully captured mid-century traditional watercolor landscape by the acclaimed Irish painter and muralist Bernard McDonagh, A.N.C.A. (1924–2016). Founder of the Sligo School of Landscape Painting, McDonagh is highly celebrated for masterfully translating the wild, atmospheric spirit of the Irish coast.

This piece depicts a serene, sweeping coastal cove. The work exhibits McDonagh's signature fluid brushwork and astute command of transparent color harmony, creating an evocative scene heavily reminiscent of the coastal expanses of County Sligo and County Donegal.

The reverse side carries exceptional provenance, featuring an original typed artist biography alongside a personal handwritten inscription from the artist:

"To Rudy From Bernard McDonagh. Presented on 20th Anniversary of President Kennedy's death. 22—Nov. 1983"

Professionally framed in a sleek, rectangular gold-toned wood frame and beautifully mounted. Good vintage condition. Mild surface wear consistent with age on the outer gold frame; the artwork itself remains beautifully preserved behind glass with sharp, distinct details and rich coloration.
