Italian 17th Century Still Life Painting in Period Carved Gilt Frame
 
Italian school still life painting from the workshop of a great master. The 17th century Baroque painting in oil on canvas is beautifully composed and with great detail. A bowl overflowing with fruit, bunches of flowers and two wild fowl are set against a dark background. The strong contrast of light and dark is typical of the period.
The old master painting is presented in a period Venetian hand carved gilded frame. Created by a master carver, this frame is elaborately decorated with a finely carved variety of leaves and roses. The frame itself is a flamboyant and romantic piece of art that compliments the painting perfectly.
Condition: The painting is in good relined condition. Small creases on each side towards the bottom. Age related fine craquelure. Frame is good. Original gilding has some touch ups. Wear with age and use.
