Large 19th Century Signed American Landscape Painting, Original Period Frame.
 
This oil on canvas, signed by Albert Insley, pictures a moody Autumn landscape.  Albert Insley (1842-1937) was a New Jersey born artist who, most notably, choose the landscape subjects of Vermont, New Hampshire and New York.  Insley painted with George Inness and Jasper Cropsey. His work reflected the influence of the Barbizon School of France.  The painting is housed in the original period gilded frame.
 
Condition:  Good.  Wear due to age.  A retouch is noted in the sky.
