Large Pair of English Renaissance Repousse Brass Candlesticks.
 
Seventeenth century English embossed brass candlesticks from about 1650. This rare pair of beautifully created candle holders have heavy bases with gadrooned design. The circular dished top and nodus are also embossed with intricate gadroon decoration. Fine fish scale repousse covered the stems. These are an exceptional example of the Golden Age of Northern Renaissance.
Condition is good. One candle sleeve is missing. Wear commensurate with age and use.
