Mid-20th Century Large Ornithological Oil Painting of Songbirds by Ira Monte.
An exceptional and commanding mid-20th century oil on canvas painting by Spanish Artist, Ira Monte (b.1918) depicting a vibrant gathering of songbirds and tropical birds perched amidst a classical landscape. Executed on a grand scale, the composition draws inspiration from 17th-century European Master ornithological works. The painting showcases five detailed birds nestled along gnarled, twisting tree branches. The foreground gives way to an atmospheric and stylized sky rendered in hues of celadon green and slate blue. 
The painting is housed in its original, distressed silver-gilt molded wooden frame with a faux-aged patina. The reverse of the canvas displays its original handwritten production stamp. 
Condition: Good, Wear consistent with age and use. Unsigned.
