Mid-Century Abstracted Watercolor & Wax-Resist Mountain Landscape by Mina Tabuena. 
An evocative mid-century modern abstracted mountain landscape by 20th-century artist Mina Tabuena. This compelling work on paper utilizes an intricate mixed-media technique, expertly combining fluid watercolor washes in a muted tonal palette with an expressive wax-resist (or oil pastel) application. The resist technique creates heavily textured, graphic white vertical lines that represent stylized tree lines and mountain ridges, lending exceptional depth and tactile interest to the composition.
The artwork is signed by the artist, "Mina Tabuena" in the upper-left quadrant. It remains housed in its original mid-century in custom wide black velvet mat bounded by a rounded gilt wood frame. The reverse retains its original paper dust cover and gallery label.
Mina Tabuena was active within the vibrant mid-century artistic circles of Mexico. Her atmospheric, near-monochromatic sensibility closely aligns with the regional modernist movements of the era. 
The artwork itself is in excellent/very good condition. The custom gold gilt frame and black velvet mat are original to the piece and show age-appropriate wear.
