A young lady in a dress of white and light blue with gentle swirling design. Her raven hair is dressed with peonies. The off the shoulders costume draws attention to a long neck and perfect ringlets that drape bare shoulders. Her gold bracelets are featured with delicate hands. This fine Biedermeyer portrait is confidently executed in detail. 
The painting is signed on left lower side (illegible) and dated 1843. It is housed in a standing and hanging wood frame that is hand carved, hand painted and gilt detailed.
