Newcomb-Macklin, Stanford White Design 28 x 24 Period Frame
 
Extremely rare and fine original Newcomb-Macklin Stanford White frame, circa 1920s-1930s. The frame consists of a gilded composition ornament over wood.  White’s frame designs were brilliant and as memorable as White himself.  There was no need to mark his frames because they were instantly recognizable.  His frames are described as looking like gilded lace and shimmery tear drops.  
 
Original antique condition with a minor scratch on one edge. Gilding is original.
