Pair of French 19th C. FRANCOIS LINKE Louis XV Style Ormolu Mounted Mahogany Demi-lune Consoles.
An elegant pair of French 19th Century Louis XV style ormolu mounted and parquetry inlaid demi-lune consoles by Francois Linke (1855-1946). They are raised on slender cabriole legs. The mahogany and kingwood parquetry is decorated with exquisitely chased gilt bronze ormolu that examples the artistry of the greatest Parisian cabinetmaker.
The consoles are in good condition. Some early restoration on the leg interior sides (see pics). Minor scratches due to wear with age and use.
FRANCOIS LINKE 1855-1946 is considered as the leading Parisian ebonist of the late 19th and early 20th century. His historistic interpretation of Louis XV and Louis XVI style were widely received with popular appeal and the quality of his furniture eclipsed even Versailles.
