Pair of 18th Century Italian Carved and Polychrome Angel Candlesticks
 
Pair of Baroque style winged angel candle sticks. They feature dramatic, deeply carved wings, flowing drapery and a dynamic posture. They are a typical example of 17th and 18th century European ecclesiastical art. Each angel stands on an ornate pedestal base while elevating a single candle pricket. The carvings are in good antique condition, with excepted age related distress to the gilding and polychrome. One pair of wings are restored.
