Pair of Large Chinese Porcelain Lamps Coral-Red, Qing Dynasty.
Rare, early 19th Century pair of striking Chinese enameled porcelain vases converted to table lamps. The highly decorative six-sided baluster shaped vases are hand-painted with the most exquisite classical Chinese motifs. The vignettes and cartouches picture censers, flowers and peacock feathers among other symbolic images set against a coral-red ground. The vases have been drilled and are raised on beautifully carved and painted wooden bases and the mouths are closed with carved wooden plates.
Condition is excellent, lamps are in working condition. Lamp shades included.
