Pre Colombian, Ecuadorian Pottery Bowl, Mucawa Drinking Vessel, Geometric Motifs.
 
This beautiful specimen of geometric shapes is in excellent condition.  A footed pottery celebratory drinking bowl vessel (Mucawa) is painted all over with the “backbone-rib”, anaconda motifs.  Mucawas are decorated in a variety of ways, but all feature the same red, black and white palette derived from the preparation of local Ecuadorian minerals.
 
Wear due to age and use.  No cracks or repairs.
