Rare Tudor revival English manor house carved hall chair, late 19th century.

This armchair, in Tudor style or Romanesque Revival Aesthetic Movement, is beautiful in an unusual way. It has extensive decorative carvings of oak leaves and various other motifs on the back panel and on both sides of the armrests. There is fine crenulation carving to the top rail. The wide down swept curved carved arms have Gothic overtones. The wood has a soft mellow finish. This desirable rare chair is well executed with solid joints and sturdy construction.
